French Toast

French Toast is a very simple and delicious recipe for breakfast or brunch. A sweet version of the egg bread toast that we Albanians have been indulging on for years.

This recipe was prepared and photographed by Eranda about a year ago, and we still don’t know why we haven’t shared this recipe earlier.

  • The amount of sweetness used in this recipe is totally personal. I use half a tablespoon of honey for 3 slices of bread (you can substitute honey with maple syrup). Nevertheless if you want it sweeter, add some extra honey or maple on top before serving.
  • This meal is best associated with seasonal fruit.

Method:

 

Melt some unsalted butter over medium heat, in a frying pan or skillet.

Whisk together in a deep plate the egg, milk, cinnamon and honey.

Dip the bread in egg mixture.

Fry slices until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side.

Serve warm.
