Basic Pancakes Recipe

Pancakes have the most simple recipe that you can search. With only few basic ingredients you will have the perfect breakfast or snack. Soft, fluffy, beautiful, delicious. I mean, what can you ask for more ?!
Traditionaly pancakes are round, but I cooked them on a slighty deep pan and therefore they took the form of the pan. But again, this is not your concern. Round or oval they still remain very beautiful and delicious !

There is no need to buy self-raising flour as long as you can make your own at home. With only 3 basic ingredients and no time you will have it on hands at anytime. For 128 gram flour, add 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix very well with a spoon or whisk and store it in an airtight container for months.

 

Method:

 

Mix all dry ingredients together

In a big bowl mix all wet ingredients

Add the dry ingredients into the large bowl of liquid ingredients

Whisk ingredients together

Leave the batter to rise for one hour

After one hour take a spoon or a spatula and mix the batter

Heat a large frying pan or griddle on medium heat

Grease the pan with an oiled napkin every time you cook pancakes

Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to dollop the batter on the pan

Let the pancakes to cook until bubbles appear and the edges dull

Flip them with a spatula and let them cook on the other side aswell

They should be evenly browned on both sides

To keep the pancakes soft put them in a towel and flip it over (the towel)
