Energy balls with chocolate and peanut butter


We are starting the new year with a quick, healthy and utterly tasty recipe. These energy balls are ideal to make you feel full and start the day energetically. You can take with you on the way and enjoy them when you want too. A recipe that never lets you down.

The preparing method is super easy and it requires such a short time.

  • To enhance the flavors, I suggest you bake the oatmeal, coconut flakes and flax seeds.
  • If you are not a fan of peanut butter you can replace it with any other nut butter.
  • You can add the dark chocolate as a dry ingredient or melt it and add it with the liquid ingredients by making the taste more uniform. I prefer to melt it.
  • Melt the peanut butter and honey just enough so they are not hard and you can mix them easily with other ingredients.

If you want to enhance the flavors: lay the oatmeal, the coconut flakes and flax seeds on a baking sheet on a dish and bake them for 10-15 minutes in 150°C. Mix them occasionally.

If you want to skip this step, mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

Add the peanut butter to the dry ingredients and mix until you are sure they are fully mixed.

Using a tablespoon or ice cream spoon with #50 measure (the spoon we use for the cookies in the other recipes) form the balls.

Put the energy balls in the fridge until they stiffen and then serve.

The balls can keep their shape even in room temperature, so you can just leave them for 10-15 min in the fridge and then you can store then in a hermetic dish and take them with you at work or wherever you want.
