Classic Waffles Recipe
06/02/2015

A waffle is a leavened batter or dough cooked between two plates, patterned to give a characteristic size, shape and surface impression. There are many variations based on the type of waffle iron and recipe used. Waffles are eaten throughout the world, particularly in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Scandinavia, United States, with over a dozen regional varieties in Belgium alone.
There are many types of waffles when it comes to the batter and the flavor, but today I decided to share with you the basic recipe of classic waffles. A recipe which I’ve been using for over a year now.
Method:
Mix all dry ingredients together and set aside
In a large bowl mix all fluid ingredients together
Add the dry ingredients and mix just to combine. Do not over blend, few lumps are fine
Preheat the iron and put the batter on a cup so it will be more easier for you to spread
Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron
Cook the waffles until golden and crisp
Top them with whatever you desire
